Building Skills, Confidence and Connections: Interns Reflect on Their Summer at BeOne

From hands-on projects and professional development to mentorship and meaningful collaboration, BeOne interns share what made this summer a memorable and impactful experience.

This summer, 84 interns from 63 universities across the United States and around the world joined BeOne, bringing curiosity, fresh perspectives, and a passion for making a difference. Interns contributed to initiatives across the organization from Commercial, Development, Manufacturing, Medical Affairs, Data Science, Human Resources, Quality, Legal, and many other functions.

To learn more about their experiences, we asked our interns to reflect on their time at BeOne and share their collective experiences.

What Makes a BeOne Internship Different?

Interns at BeOne contributed to initiatives that support business priorities across the organization, from research and manufacturing to medical affairs, commercial operations, technology, and beyond.

Projects this summer included developing AI-enabled research tools, supporting manufacturing initiatives, evaluating oncology data, strengthening technology infrastructure, and helping teams prepare for product launches.

What learning opportunities are available outside of day-to-day work?

In addition to their project responsibilities, interns participated in professional development programs focused on networking, personal branding, career development, workplace communication, and leadership engagement.

A highlight of the summer was the two-day Summer Intern Summit, where leaders from functions across BeOne shared insights into their career journeys and perspectives on the future of the industry.

Interns are also connected through social events, networking opportunities, and panel discussions that encouraged questions and relationship building across teams and locations. Together, these experiences provided a broader understanding of the business while helping interns develop professional skills they can carry throughout their careers.

What do interns value most about their experience?

When asked about the highlights of their summer, many interns pointed to the relationships they built. Johan Elizondo, who was an intern within BeOne Site Operations team, noted “the highlight of my internship was the people I met and collaborated with, I gained a deeper understanding of communication, workplace processes, and the importance of teamwork in a support environment.”

Annie Xu, an intern from BeOne’s Quality team, echoed a similar experience.

“What really made the internship special was hearing about peoples’ experiences in the industry or their career overall,” she said. “Work is work anywhere, but the people you work with are different.”
