Our Commitment to Patients
Cancer has no borders. Neither do we.
At BeOne Medicines, “patients first” is more than a core value—it’s our guiding principle. Every day, we strive to create high-quality, innovative medicines faster for patients. It’s not enough for innovative drugs to simply exist. We want to make sure patients can access them.
Because cancer is too complex to solve alone, we collaborate with patient communities and advocates. Together, we aim to strengthen the real-world support beyond treatment — education, diagnosis, and connections to care — especially where traditional access pathways fall short. We also work with health systems and access stakeholders worldwide to bring breakthrough therapies to patients everywhere. To date, our two cornerstone therapies have treated over 1.8 million patients since commercialization.
If you or someone you know is having trouble affording medication, talk to your healthcare provider about finding help. BeOne is committed to helping reduce practical and financial barriers that can stand between a prescription and treatment, and to guiding patients through key steps so they can start and stay on therapy with confidence. When Innovation Outpaces Access: Closing the Gap in CLL Care
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) care is at a pivotal moment – transforming in just over a decade from chemotherapy to targeted, personalized treatments that are extending lives and redefining what’s possible. But too often, the healthcare system is failing to keep pace with the science, preventing patients from fully benefiting from that progress.
Our first-of-its-kind report, When Innovation Outpaces Access: Closing the Gap in CLL Care, developed in partnership with Charles River Associates and the broader blood cancer community, pinpoints where the CLL care system is falling short, and what needs to change to close access gaps.
Many patients still encounter barriers in biomarker testing, inconsistent use of risk-informed treatment decisions, and insurance barriers like step therapy in the U.S., limiting access to the right therapy at the right time.
At BeOne Medicines, we believe that must change. The new research outlines five actions to help improve access, support guideline-informed care, and reduce delays to ensure more people with CLL can benefit from today’s progress in care.
Realizing the full promise of advances in CLL means closing these access gaps. Doing so will require all of us – patients, clinicians, payers, policymakers, advocates, and industry – to work together to ensure every CLL patient can benefit from today’s breakthrough science and tomorrow’s future innovation.
Patient-Focused Drug Development & Clinical Trials
We believe in actively involving patients and care partners in our research and development process. This helps us understand the real-life needs and challenges that people living with cancer face. By listening to and learning from patients and their care partners, we gain insights that can help inform the design of clinical trials to better reflect their needs and support outcomes that matter to them.
We strive to include patients that represent real-world populations from a broad range of ages, ethnicities, genders, and geographic communities in our oncology research, recognizing that eligibility criteria, disease characteristics, and local research infrastructure may influence participation opportunities. To help expand access to our clinical trials, we created COHERE (Collaborative Operations for Health Engagement, Representation & Enrollment). COHERE is anchored in epidemiology, using data to understand disease burden, patient populations, and opportunities to strengthen clinical trial access. This foundation informs our site strategy, clinical trial education, and community-informed engagement so we can work with research sites, healthcare institutions, and community organizations to identify and address barriers to participation early.
To learn more, visit our Clinical Trials page where you can find out if you may be eligible to participate. Please consult with your doctor to discuss whether a clinical trial is right for you.
Elevating Patient Needs Through Partnerships
As part of BeOne’s mission to put patients first, we actively engage with patients and advocacy organizations to help better understand their cancer journey, and close gaps in education, diagnosis, and improve access. We ask the hard questions to understand what is most needed locally, then co-create efforts that meet people where they are. This approach has led us to build partnerships with 75+ patient advocacy organizations worldwide.
By supporting patient organizations, we aim to empower patients and help improve health outcomes. Through that work, we not only support important programs, but also incorporate key learnings from patient communities into our strategies and decisions. Our goal is to enable breakthrough science, so more patients, in more places, can benefit sooner.
We believe in partnerships and innovative patient initiatives that can improve the lives of people living with and affected by cancer. That’s why we collaborate with patient communities and advocates — to strengthen the real-world support beyond treatment through better education, diagnosis, and connections to care. Patient organizations are encouraged to contact patientadvocacy@beonemed.com.
