BeOne Medicines, a global oncology company today published the 2024 Responsible Business & Sustainability (RB&S) Report, underscoring our commitment to patients, transparency, and operational resilience.

“Cancer has no borders, which is why BeOne was strategically built to provide rapid, accessible, and innovative solutions to more patients around the world. Our commitment to patients also means operating in a responsible way that builds operational, geographical, and environmental resilience for long-term growth.”
John V. Oyler
Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO at BeOne
Our 2024 RB&S Report provides transparency into our policies, practices and the progress we have made across our four focus areas:
Advancing Global Health
We are focused on developing impactful medicines that will be accessible to more patients around the world.
2024 was a year of tremendous achievement. Our team moved 13 molecules into the clinic and achieved approval for our medicines in 14 new countries. Our effort to execute clinical trials independent of clinical research organizations progressed with approximately 95% of our trials executed in-house. We continue to partner with the global cancer community and were proud to launch Test Before Treat, an educational campaign about the importance of biomarker testing before and during treatment, in collaboration with the CLL Society. The BeOne Care Foundation reached an important milestone as well, completing its inaugural round of grants for the recently established Access to Cancer Care grant program.
Empowering Our Colleagues
We are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and building a global workforce that enables our colleagues to thrive.
Our success is driven by our talented team that now works across six continents. We continue to provide support and development opportunities to our team including through the new Strengthening Experience, Exposure, and Development (SEED) program, which provides colleagues with the opportunity to engage in short-term projects outside their current team or region. BeOne University also provides continuous opportunities for learning and welcomed over 7,000 active users in 2024. Our colleagues are driven by purpose and spent over 18,000 hours volunteering for important causes of their choosing in their communities.
Innovating Sustainably
We aim to assess and mitigate our impact on the environment and ensure business continuity.
Our efforts to operate in a sustainable way that safeguards business continuity continued, and we completed our first nature-related preparedness assessment, which evaluated the nature-related impacts and dependencies across our organization. We continued to track progress against our goal to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions per unit of internally manufactured commercial product, and 2024 showed a 15% reduction compared to our baseline year. Contributing to our effort to reach this goal was the completion of 27 energy efficiency projects, the publication of a Product Stewardship Statement, as well as the achievement of platinum certification by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program for one of our new offices.
Operating Responsibly
We operate with integrity, transparency, and discipline to ensure we are meeting the diverse expectations of our stakeholders.
We remain vigilant in monitoring our governance structures, corporate policies, and risk management in an effort to operate in a responsible, ethical, and sustainable way. Our supply chain team worked to expand our network of sourcing partners for key raw materials, and we also broadened the scope of our data privacy team to include ethics, positioning us to proactively address emerging regulations and risks surrounding responsible data usage and artificial intelligence.
To ensure our RB&S Strategy remains tied to our most pressing issues, we completed our first Double Materiality Assessment at the end of 2024. The project, which included internal and external stakeholders, identified 36 material topics. By concentrating our efforts on these high-priority areas, we can efficiently utilize our resources to strengthen our operational and reputational resilience and uphold our commitment to patients.
With purpose driving our innovation and our focus on ensuring organizational resilience, BeOne is poised to deliver novel, meaningful therapies for patients in need.
